As part of my research training I have attended oral history workshops through the Oral History Society, the British Library and the Institute of Historical Research in the UK. This, together with my background in material culture, museums and archives has sparked an interest in collecting family or organisational memories using photographs and mementos as mnemonics to trigger recollections. I collect family histories and stories which can be displayed on personal websites, private online resources, or cloud platforms and may included recorded conversations, digitised photograph collections, videos, images of treasured items, page-turning digital photo albums or story books. In this way the memories of the family become an interactive living record which can be shared and added to in future generations.
I have created a separate company for this aspect of my work at Virtual Memories.
